Think its about time I said Hi, Been around here for a few months now, mainly keeping an eye on the 'for sale' section to see if anything I was looking for appeared here But I have finely given in to to temptation and purchased a very nice looking 2002 WRX estate. Its standard and pretty much within a few days of buying her I took it to andy @ veysport for a cam belt change and a health check for peace of mind and she came back in perfect health thank goodness, well Andy pointed out its running a little rich but nothing a remap wont sort. I had a silver 94 import a few years ago, which i still see around in Bournemouth. I dont think the performance is as quick or sharp as the import but the ride, smoothness and just general improvement makes it a nicer place to be in. As always I have plans for her, Its just got a cat back system at the mo, but iam looking to get some lowering springs, front splitter, Andy mentioned a remap (headers or something not sure what they are) fuel injectors/pump and perhaps in the future a front mount and maybe a TD05 turbo which brings me on to a question. Getting all this done will cost and will take a year ish but looking around at prices I came across ebay TD05 turbo's for a £200-£400, is it kinda stay away because they are cheap or because they are made in the far east and perhaps mass produced they can kick out good quality kit? Anyway enough of me babbling on will get some pics up once the weather has improved. Thx Justin

Welcome Justin, glad you've found your choice of car. A bit of extra research on the turbo would be a good idea before you buy, there is some very good knowledge regarding the upgrades on here and several guys will be happy to give you some advise.

Nice you have a legacy RS, if one of these had turned up for sale and was in good nick I would have been very tempted. I recall one was for sale last year in the summer local to bournemouth and was snapped up pretty quick. Great looking car. And ive just noticed the first reply to me saying hello also has a legacy rs, need to pay more attention

Yeah thats Wicky, he sold that while ago, making mine more rare down here!.. But he has a rather nice Forester turbo import now, he's just a bit slow changing his pic! Regards the TD-05, would personally stay away from the cheap ebay ones, make sure you get a genuine mitsubishi one, not a copy. The standard 16g comes with 90deg intake which will need converting to front entry, unless you get one already done. Put an 18g version on mine when i converted from twin to single turbo, came from a fellow club member, so knew it was ok, pretty awesome turbo! Tho theres other alternatives like the VF34 and VF35, which can go for strong money. Plenty of helpfull advice from other members on here with far more knowledge tho! Get yourself to a meet, were a friendly bunch!

I will stay away from the ebay ones for sure, I read that the seals perished pretty quick so will go for a proper one so to speak. As a married man which has its draw backs I just cant go spending series money so soon after a purchase :( so will concentrate on springs and a few other upgrades I can get with out getting noticed lol. But if a turbo should show up decently priced then who knows. When/where is the next get together?
