Just wanted to say hello from Sherborne.

I don't have a Subaru but I do have a Subaru Legacy 2.5L engine shoe horned into my 1963 Split screen camper.

It's running an Emerald ECU and custom map, 175 BHP, custom air intake and exhaust system.

I have a 2.0 turbo WRX jap import engine read to be rebuilt and go in - this is where I will need some help from you guys / gals......

It will be running the TD05 turbo with a bit more boost and fuelling to match......hoping for high 200's which should be achievable....

I can supply a newage 2.0 STI AVCS engine complete and ready to run including clutch, headers, inlet manifold etc for £900 with full service history. In fact you can take your pick of complete engines. A newage STI motor will happily see you to the 450hp mark without internals. If you would like a chat about anything you need give me a pm. Happy to help m8 and love what you are doing

If you need any help with narrowed beams / custom parts i know a guy in southampton that specialises in aircooled his company is called project1 the guys called charlie good bloke and knows his aircooled and a bit about subarus

450bhp??? Not with the reduction boxes still in place or even a latet box and IRS conversion

Go easy on her - remember she's 50 !!

My new proposed engine install - Turbo has to be repositioned to make it fit / work.

Needs fabrication of new exhaust etc.......

You may want to sort out a better place for the air filter while you're at it, can't imagine it'll get enough cold air in there.

The air filter has been positioned right next to the punched louvred air vent on the left hand side of the van.
When driving there is a scoop which feeds the fresh air through the vent to the air filter as currently positioned.
When the turbo motor is fitted this is where the intercooler is going and the air filter will go to the opposite side of the van where there is a similar set up.

I have engineered the van with a lot of engineering thought .....its not just bodged together, i like to think that i have though about most things in the design.......intake air temps being one of them.

I spent over 10 years(late 80's to the late 90's) with aircooled VW's including making a living from it, was a good time in my life and really enjoyed it.

In that time i managed to own a few VW's....A '66 Splitty, '72 Bay, '72 Squareback and 3 beetle's including a '66, '67 and a 1302's....Dorset had its fare share of aircooled VW's, the scene was huge during that time.

Keep us posted on the Turbo conversion, looks great...

Of course i will....its a bit of a winter project for me.....hopefully take the current engine out over christmas.
