| Hi all, had a struggle to register but all good now!
not strictly a Subaru driver but i have a Subaru EJ20 engine and gearbox i'm fitting to a kit car so i sort of count hey?
will need some nuts and bolts advice as the project progresses like for instance, how on earth do you undo the allen bolts that hold the cam pulleys on, proper tight!
I'm also building a MegaSquirt ecu to run the engine, this one does spark and fuel, the one i put on my bike project a while back was just fuel but it was a fun project

| Sounds good......Is this a N/A build or turbo?
The reason i ask is if its a turbo then the stock subaru loom/ecu would of been a good route to take other than the megasquirt. |

When I went to buy the engine from a chap who was breaking the car (to make more cash) I did think about the ecu as well, it had an ecuTek system which he wanted £500 for so I had a think and opted for the DIY approach. I worked for TAG as a pcb guy and using that background I miniaturised the megasquirt on my bike project so I plan on doing the same again. The looms a bit of an issue as I only have the engine loom, so I’ve been looking for one that has the right 3 connectors on. It’s a turbo project, I’ve opted for the TD04 turbo as the kits quite light, didn’t want to go to mad to start with! |
