small world eh gave it the beans once on the way home and seems alot faster, i think the turbo has got a bit quieter aswell, ill take it out properly on the week end to try to get rid of the smoke

You wont be able to sort it totally, but there's a restrictor pill in a vac line going to a solenoid in the solenoid box that can make a huge difference.
